Dr. Ankit Dwivedi

Storyteller, Developer of Teacher Telling Tales
Dr. Ankit Dwivedi is a storyteller and researcher based in India, whose doctoral work centers on Storytelling and Teacher Education within the context of Indian schools. Guided by the influential writings of Prof Krishna Kumar and under the mentorship of Prof. Padma Sarangapani, both esteemed educationists, Ankit focused on studying and engendering storytelling practices among high school teachers with the aim of enhancing the overall schooling experience. 
Ankit's research interests span storytelling pedagogy, community media, experiential learning, teacher professional development, and communities of practice. Before pursuing his Ph.D., Ankit completed a Masters in Social Work with a specialization in community organization at TISS, Mumbai, where he also engaged in participatory theatre for several years. His professional training includes storytelling at the International School of Storytelling, England, Art Therapy at Bapu Trust, Pune, and Design Thinking and Game Design at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the United States.
With over a decade of experience in performing arts and group facilitation, Ankit has traversed various geographies, including India, the UK, and the US, collaborating with non-profits, universities, entrepreneurs, and businesses.
Over the past three years, Ankit has developed and facilitated "Teacher Telling Tales," a flagship online course designed to empower teachers in the art of storytelling. At the Center for Excellence in Teacher Education (CETE), TISS, he imparts knowledge through a course titled 'Theatre, Arts, Media and Communication' and serves as a consultant on educational projects, contributing to the development of experiential curriculums and teacher training programs for state governments.
With a profound belief in the humanizing and transformative power of stories, Ankit endeavors to nurture and spread the joy of storytelling. Through his life and work, he aspires to support thousands of teachers and community storytellers in sharing more stories, more often.
