Aaboo Varghese is the Founder and Executive Director of Purnata, a leading anti–human trafficking organisation committed to the rescue, rehabilitation, and reintegration of women and children who have been trafficked, with a strong prevention strategy addressing source, transit, and destination by tackling both supply and demand.

With over 35 years in developmental work, including 18 years of frontline experience in anti-trafficking, he has led innovative community-based interventions across Mumbai and West Bengal, worked closely with law enforcement and government agencies, and helped establish Amoli Handicrafts, a sustainable livelihood brand for survivors rebuilding their lives. Aaboo’s work blends strategic vision with a shepherd’s heart. Aaboo is known as a leader guided by deep compassion and conviction, shaped by his passion for mentoring, advocacy, and building safer communities for women and children. Every person deserves dignity, opportunity, and freedom — and restoring that is worth a lifetime of service.
